Starting Hourly Rate:
$22.00, with compensation based on experience.


The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers essential nursing care to both acute and chronically ill pediatric patients, ranging from infancy to 21 years, as well as select adult patients. This care is provided under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) Care Manager and in compliance with the regulations set forth by the Ohio Board of Nursing.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and document both objective and subjective data regarding patients and their families.
- Communicate significant findings to the RN Care Manager overseeing the patient's care.
- Adhere to the care plan tailored to the patient's developmental stage.
- Collaborate with the RN Care Manager on appropriate nursing tasks and interventions.
- Execute nursing interventions in accordance with established standards, demonstrating proficiency in designated nursing care.
- Administer and record medications via various routes, including oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal, transdermal, rectal, and aerosol, while adhering to safety protocols.

- Perform IV therapy procedures, including verifying peripheral IV solutions, assessing infusion sites, and managing peripheral IV devices and central venous catheters.


Qualifications:

Education:
Must be a graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program.

Licensure:
Must hold a valid Practical Nurse license in the State of Ohio.

Certifications:

Must complete an Ohio Board of Nursing approved medication administration examination, such as NAPNES or OAPNES.



Must successfully fulfill orientation objectives as determined by management.

Essential Skills:
- Proficient written and verbal communication abilities.
- Demonstrated competence in specific nursing care practices. Effective interaction skills with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare team members, tailored to various age groups.

Physical Requirements:


Must possess the ability to see, hear, stand, walk, speak, read, and perform manual tasks with or without accommodation, and care for oneself with minimal difficulty. Must be capable of independently lifting up to 25 lbs.

Must be able to assist in moving or repositioning patients of any weight or size with the help of others and/or equipment.
