Overview: This position involves executing a range of tasks to fabricate, assemble, and/or refurbish various components and structures of aircraft. The assemblies may necessitate the use of controlled tooling and adherence to specific blueprints. Responsibilities include aligning components on jigs utilizing both templates and fixtures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drilling precise tolerance holes.
- Conducting part-fitting tasks such as minor filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, drilling, reaming, riveting, countersinking, and cold working.
- Measuring components using various methods to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Modifying both incomplete and complete assemblies to integrate changes and carry out repairs.
- Working from technical diagrams, drawings, specifications, and shop orders.
- Monitoring and validating quality, and developing corrective actions as necessary.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in sheet metal assembly or aircraft sheet metal structures.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, including drills, torque wrenches, and inspection tools.
- Basic computer skills.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment while also being a self-starter.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Focus on cost efficiency, quality, scheduling, and safety.
- Experience in aircraft assembly.
Clearance Level: None
Work Environment: This position requires onsite full-time work at a designated facility.
Work Schedule: Lockheed Martin offers various alternate work schedules to provide flexibility, including standard 40-hour weeks and condensed schedules.
