Maintenance Technician II

Empath Health is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing routine repair work and maintaining designated buildings and grounds.
Key Responsibilities:- Promote and practice the Empath Health mission and values, and follow all policies and procedures.
- Maintain all hospice facilities and equipment, ensuring proper operation, cleanliness, and maintenance.
- Report any equipment or supply needs to the Manager of Facilities.
- Perform general electrical, plumbing, painting, and wall repair, as well as assemble and install equipment, shelving, and other items.
- Assess projects to ensure they do not cause damage or harm to buildings or individuals.
- Analyze and assess situations, making recommendations for cost-effective solutions.
- Communicate and collaborate with team members, department colleagues, visitors, and vendors.
- Report to various locations during emergency events, as defined by leadership.
- Follow directions regarding tasks and duties as assigned.
- High School diploma.
- Minimum of two (2) years of facility and grounds maintenance experience, with experience in construction trades preferred.
- An equivalent combination of professional experience and education may be considered as meeting the Education/Professional requirements.
- Knowledge of general maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, painting, wall repair, equipment, and shelving installation, and grounds maintenance.
- Ability to maintain and care for landscaping.
- Knowledge of customary safety standards and ability to provide for a safe working environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Basic knowledge of computer usage, including Outlook and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to travel within Tidewell's service areas as needed during daylight and nighttime hours in all weather conditions.
- Possess a current Florida driver's license, state-required auto insurance coverage, and reliable transportation.
- Ability to read and write English.
