About the Role

TETRA Technologies is seeking a skilled Chemical Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our chemical processing plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plant Operations: Under general supervision, you will operate in all areas of the plant, receiving direction from the Lead Operator on routine operations and close direction on non-routine operations.
  • Tank Management: Determine tank levels using level indicators, gauge glasses, measuring tapes, etc.
  • Material Handling: Load and unload trucks, ensuring correct connections to storage tanks and proper weight of loaded vehicles, as well as load and unload rail cars.
  • Quality Control: Perform basic analytical tests, including pH, density, and alkalinity.
  • Process Control: Adjust gas flow to control evaporator temperatures and sample evaporators.
  • Maintenance: Operate forklift and loader, charge solid raw materials from bags, supersacks, drums, or bulk storage, and load drums and/or tote containers to correct weight.
  • Housekeeping: Maintain plant housekeeping and ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Experience: 1+ years related plant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver's License, Vocational training preferred.
  • Skills: Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office 2007 or greater proficiency.
