About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our Nanobiotechnology and Molecular Engineering Research Group at Augusta University. The successful candidate will contribute to ongoing research projects, develop new research techniques, and collaborate with graduate and undergraduate students.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in project planning and development of research protocols, ensuring adherence to accepted scientific research principles and compliance with relevant federal guidelines.
  • Perform a variety of experimental studies, including animal behavior, cell biology, and molecular biology experiments, and analyze results using manual or computer techniques.
  • Coordinate and participate in research of scientific literature, summarize and evaluate findings, and develop derivative applications of techniques developed by own research activities or reported by other research projects.
  • Compose articles for publication in scientific journals, review articles prepared by others, and present findings at scientific meetings locally, nationally, and internationally.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of students, graduate assistants, and other research personnel engaged in research activities and/or related laboratory work.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. or equivalent degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A strong background in Molecular Biology is a must. Previous experience with the biological/biomedical applications of Raman Spectroscopy (RS) and Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) is highly desired.
