This position provides an opportunity to engage with state-of-the-art technology within a flourishing sector. The CNC Mill Machine Operator will be tasked with operating CNC Lathes under guidance to fabricate aerospace components according to specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC Lathes with Fanuc Controls
- Conduct daily operations of CNC lathes
- Inspect parts as they are produced
- Perform deburring as necessary during the manufacturing process
- Acquire fundamental knowledge of commonly used M and G codes
- Receive training in blueprint interpretation
- Adhere to schedules established by supervisors
- Learn to utilize micrometers and other precision measuring instruments
- Monitor machine operations and identify out-of-tolerance components
- Meet job standards as outlined in job estimates
- Develop troubleshooting skills for operational issues
- Follow setup sheets and machine instructions
- Comply with all 5S processes
- Perform additional related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Vocational training is advantageous
- College coursework is a plus
- Prior on-the-job training is beneficial
- Willingness to learn
- Familiarity with Boeing BAC specifications
- Experience in the aerospace sector
- Ability to calculate plating tolerances on diameters and threads
Computer Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Basic computer literacy
Other Skills:
- Ability to read blueprints
- Capable of maintaining a tolerance of .0001
- Exceptional attention to detail
Language Proficiency:
Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret work instructions, drawings, and procedural manuals in English. Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to inquiries in English.
Mathematical Skills:
Strong foundational knowledge of geometry is essential. Must be able to convert metric to imperial measurements and perform decimal to fraction conversions accurately.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting up to 30 pounds
- Reaching, carrying, pushing, pulling
- Writing, keying/typing
- Standing, walking, bending, squatting
- Maintaining mental and visual focus to ensure work accuracy
Work Environment:
Work may occur in an office setting or the manufacturing area, necessitating the use of safety glasses and hearing protection. Exposure to varying degrees of heat, cold, dust, dirt, noise, odors, and fumes may be encountered in manufacturing areas.
Job Type: Full-time, 1st Shift
Compensation: Competitive pay with expected hours of 40 per week. This role includes benefits such as Medical, Dental, Vision, Term Life, Short-Term Disability, and a Retirement Plan. Employees are also entitled to accrue and utilize paid sick and safe leave.
