Quality Assurance Specialist

The Quality Assurance Specialist plays a crucial role in analyzing engineering documentation, including blueprints and specifications, and conducting inspections in accordance with these guidelines. Proficiency in utilizing standard measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators is essential. This position involves performing both visual and dimensional inspections for incoming materials, ongoing processes, final assessments, and initial article evaluations on aerospace components, ranging from individual parts to complete assemblies.

Position Overview

  • Analyze engineering documentation, including blueprints and specifications.
  • Skilled in the use of measurement instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections.
  • Perform inspections for incoming materials, ongoing processes, final assessments, and initial articles.
  • Ensure compliance with visual and cosmetic standards.
  • Document inspection findings and nonconformance reports.
  • Engage in root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Review supplier certifications for adherence to requirements.
  • Collect data for statistical evaluations.
  • Interpret tolerances accurately.
  • Understand and apply various precision measuring tools used in mechanical inspections, including geometrical and positional tolerance requirements.
  • Experience in an ISO 9001/AS9100 Quality Management System environment.
  • Prior experience with ERP or MRP systems.
  • Familiarity with document types affected by Configuration Control Changes.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to interpret tolerances.
  • Knowledge of precision measuring instruments used in mechanical inspections.
  • Experience in an ISO 9001/AS9100 QMS environment.
  • Previous experience with ERP or MRP systems.
  • Understanding of document types impacted by Configuration Control Changes.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Experience in an inspection role.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
