We are in search of an experienced engineering leader to guide a dedicated team of engineers specializing in battery management, power optimization, and performance enhancement.

Your role will involve assembling and directing a team that collaborates closely with various cross-functional partners to elevate the AirPods user experience.

This position offers the chance to engage in and lead dynamic engineering projects by working in tandem with a diverse range of teams across Apple.

Key Responsibilities:
As a manager, you will play a pivotal role in product development by steering a team in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Your contributions will span the entire product development lifecycle, from initial concept through to production, driving both enabling technologies and specific product features.


Core Duties:

  • Lead the exploration, assessment, and creation of new features and technologies
  • Initiate new hardware and silicon platforms
  • Oversee custom silicon requirements and validation processes
  • Consistently enhance energy efficiency and battery lifespan
  • Collaborate with leaders across Apple to deliver an exceptional user experience
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of demonstrated excellence in firmware, device driver, or related fields
  • 3+ years of experience leading an embedded software or firmware development team
  • Proficient in C/C++ programming
  • Committed to developing and mentoring team members
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with battery chargers (PMUs), state of health, and state of charge estimation
  • Experience in RTOS embedded development and multithreaded programming
  • Knowledge of MCUs, peripherals, features, and development environments
  • Able to coordinate efforts across multiple teams
  • Passionate about product ownership with a proven track record in product development
  • Highly organized, creative, motivated, and results-oriented
Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package, which is determined within a specified range. This structure allows for growth and advancement as you develop within your role. The base salary range for this position is between $181,000 and $272,300, depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Employees at Apple also have the opportunity to become shareholders through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Apple employees may be eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
