Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Compliance Specialist

Role Responsibilities:

Provide essential administrative assistance to the Bank Secrecy Act Manager, ensuring adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering regulations. The role encompasses a variety of tasks aimed at upholding a robust BSA/AML/OFAC compliance framework for the organization.

Key Duties Include:

  • Stay informed about current and evolving industry laws, regulations, and compliance requirements related to the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Office of Foreign Assets Control, and Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).
  • Investigate reports and customer account data to identify any suspicious activities that may indicate potential money laundering or structuring schemes.
  • Assist in the timely preparation of Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and other compliance documentation for review by the BSA Manager.
  • Conduct necessary OFAC and FinCEN 314a searches, ensuring compliance with established procedures and reporting results accurately.
  • Collaborate with various departments for ongoing analysis and review of compliance reports, maintaining thorough documentation.
  • Track BSA/AML and Fraud incidents in alignment with the company’s Incident Response and Identity Theft Policies.

Qualifications for Success:

In addition to relevant experience, candidates should have:

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent experience is required; 2 years of experience in BSA or financial services is preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; adept at interacting with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of detail.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn specific departmental software.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and a commitment to ethical standards.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit for extended periods and perform tasks using a computer and telephone.
  • Capability to lift or move items weighing up to 15 lbs.
