Job Title: Manager, CDI

Job Summary:

The Manager, CDI is responsible for overseeing the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) section of the Health Information Management Department. This role involves managing the functions and activities of the CDI team, ensuring quality and productivity, and collaborating with other HIM Managers to support the goals of the HIM Director.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and control the CDI section's functions and activities
  • Ensure quality and productivity of CDI team
  • Collaborate with other HIM Managers to support HIM Director's goals
  • Develop and implement new queries to increase accuracy and severity
  • Train CDI staff and coding staff to reduce reliance on outside contractors
  • Identify trends with 3rd party audit APR-DRG changes

Requirements:

  • Supervisory or managerial experience of at least 2 years
  • Pediatric CDI experience of at least 1 year
  • CCDS or CDIP certification with at least 5 years relevant CDI experience
  • Providing training and education to CDI staff and/or coders highly preferred
  • ICD-10 training certification with AHIMA highly preferred
  • 3rd party audits - appeal resolution determination and secondary review experience required

Education/Licensure/Certification:

Must be either CCDS credentialed by ACDIS or CDIP credentialed by AHIMA. Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) preferred.

Pay Scale Information:

$99,424.00-$178,963.00
