Job Summary

The Manager, CDI is a key member of the Health Information Management Department, responsible for overseeing the Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) section. This role requires strong leadership and analytical skills to maintain and improve quality, increase productivity, and develop new queries to enhance accuracy and severity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage the CDI team to ensure effective and efficient operations
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve CDI quality and productivity
  • Collaborate with coding staff to reduce reliance on outside contractors and identify trends with 3rd party audit APR-DRG changes
  • Provide training and education to CDI staff and coding personnel on CDI opportunities and ICD-10 coding
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience in pediatric CDI
  • CCDS or CDIP certification with at least 5 years of relevant CDI experience
  • ICD-10 training certification with AHIMA highly preferred
  • 3rd party audits and appeal resolution determination experience required
