Job Summary

BB&E, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Interior Designer to provide technical support and facilities planning in support of the Architecture program at the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC), located at Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA)-Lackland, TX.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform reviews, development, update, and coordination of UFC/Facilities Criteria, UFGS, Department of the Air Force instructions, policies, directives, pamphlets, manuals, and handbooks as they relate to interior design.
  • Evaluate, assist with research, coordinate, document solution recommendations, and troubleshoot technical problems for installations, MAJCOMs, and higher headquarters as required.
  • Update Architecture SME and Interior Design community websites, to include content development.
  • Assist with researching, consolidating, tracking, and responding to comments received from other organizations, to include coordination and collaboration with other DAF SMEs.
  • Provide support for facility project programming documents, including scope verification, refinement, cost estimate reviews, editing/drafting revised documents.
  • Study commercially available and emerging technologies as alternate solutions to conventional architectural and engineering facility design and construction practices.
  • Assist in preparation and delivery of presentations at training programs, mentoring sessions, and courses in the Architectural design and construction subject area of expertise.
  • Assist in documenting program files, organizing files, and providing administrative support, such as updating and maintaining technical support resources in Air Force Civil Engineering Dashboard SharePoint Site (CE DASH).
Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a NACI/CAC is required.
  • Demonstrated technical expertise for criteria development and review, including Engineering Technical Letters, UFC, FC, UFGS, and Department of the Air Force instructions, policies, directives, pamphlets, manuals, and handbooks as they relate to interior design.
  • Demonstrated expertise with the application of Industry design and construction practices and accessibility standards.
