Job Summary:

As a Speech-Language Pathologist PRN Acute Care Specialist at Methodist Health System, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care for patients in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. This position requires a graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology, current Basic Life Support Certification, and a valid Texas License. You will provide direct and indirect patient care using the Practice of Speech-Language Pathology Act/Rules process, including evaluation, treatment planning, and ongoing re-assessment and discharge planning. Your responsibilities will include communicating clearly and openly, building relationships to promote a collaborative environment, and being accountable for your performance. You will also be responsible for taking initiative for your professional growth and being engaged and eager to build a winning team.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional and technical speech and language therapy to assigned patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Document patient progress and treatment plans accurately and thoroughly.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Graduate degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification.
  • Valid Texas License or temporary license.
  • 1 year licensed SLP experience.
