GIS Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Technician to join our team at the City of Laredo, TX. As a GIS Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining, developing, and operating our geographic information systems.

• Perform technical duties in the maintenance, development, and operation of geographic information systems.
• Create, maintain, and edit departmental databases, including the preparation of data dictionaries and executing queries of individual electronic databases.
• Prepare a variety of analysis of electronic information, including the preparation of multi-layered and linked maps and tabular data.
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of geographic information system data, including researching and revising maps and data from other data sources.
• Operate a variety of geographic information system input and output devices, including scanners, printers, and plotters.

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Geographic Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related field.
• At least one (1) year of experience in geographic information systems, engineering, management information systems or related field.
• Valid Texas Driver License.

The GIS Technician will work in a variety of environments, including office settings, construction sites, and outdoor locations. The position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks effectively.
