We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Technician to join our team at the City of Laredo, TX. As a GIS Technician, you will play a critical role in collecting, developing, and maintaining geographic information systems databases, dictionaries, and related documentation.

• Collect and develop geographic information systems databases, dictionaries, and related documentation for use by the department.
• Conduct field visits to collect and develop equipment inventories for asset management purposes.
• Develop and maintain multiple databases for department operations, including traffic signals, traffic signs, pavements markings, streetlights, speed humps, and other related data.
• Collaborate with staff to coordinate the collection of information and data to develop and maintain Geographic Information Systems.
• Perform technical duties in the maintenance, development, and operation of the geographic information systems.
• Create, maintain, and edit departmental databases, including the preparation of data dictionaries and related documentation.
• Prepare graphic materials and assist staff in interpreting the results.
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of geographic information system data, including researching and revising maps and data from other data sources.

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, Information Systems, or related field.
• At least one (1) year of experience in geographic information systems.
• Valid Texas Driver License.
