Role Responsibilities
As a Surgical Services Registered Nurse (RN), your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting thorough patient assessments upon arrival in the surgical suite.
- Assisting in patient care during anesthesia induction and preparing patients for local anesthesia.
- Maintaining a sterile and safe surgical environment.
- Executing correct surgical preparations.
- Documenting and reporting patient care accurately.
- Demonstrating proficiency across various surgical specialties and equipment.
- Engaging in ongoing professional development and assisting in the orientation of new staff.
- Completing annual competencies required by the department.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a Surgical Services Registered Nurse.
- Education: Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or a Compact Registered Nursing License (Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) as per hospital policy.
