Job Summary:

Massac Memorial Hospital is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist PRN to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory care and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct discipline-specific assessments and provide appropriate treatments/services to patients in accordance with established standards of practice and performance.

Deliver life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and various medical gases therapy primarily to critical care patients in the SCU.

Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures to SCU and General Practice Units patients, including both respiratory and cardiac testing.

Maintain clinical expertise for departmental assignments at various business units throughout MMH as assigned.

Communicate effectively with patients, co-workers, physicians, and other system employees as needed regarding patient care needs.

Perform daily QC checks and conduct preventative maintenance on department equipment.

Adequately document all aspects of patient care and complete necessary and accurate patient billing information.

Stay current with education activities, in-services, and other training to maintain knowledge and skills.

Requirements:

Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Therapist program.

Registration or Certification with the National Board of Respiratory Care.

Current Illinois license for RCP.

Prefer 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Therapist.

Ability to work varied shifts.
