The Medical Director of Primary Care Services leads a team of advanced practice professionals (APPs) in providing ambulatory level medical care to psychiatric inpatients admitted to Maine Behavioral Health units and facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of APPs in providing high-quality ambulatory medical care to psychiatric inpatients.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and best practices to inform clinical decision-making.
Requirements:
- Education: Graduate of Allopathic or Osteopathic Medical School. Completion of internship and Family Medicine residency.
- License/Certifications: Current and valid licensure as a physician by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine. Board certified or board eligible through the American Board of Family Medicine or American Board of Internal Medicine & American Board of Pediatrics as documented by written evidence. Current DEA Registration Certificate.
- Experience: 3+ years' experience inclusive of residency and/or fellowship training. Meets credentialing criteria defined in Medical Staff By-laws with their associated entity.
