Nurse Practitioner

The Registered Nurse RN Intermediate Care nurse plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in our progressive care step-down unit. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care, serving as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver patient-centered nursing care and participate in patient and family education.
- Monitor heart rhythms, titrate select drips, and utilize critical thinking to manage patients.
- Create and implement a care plan to meet each patient's needs, working with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, providers, and patient care staff.
- Utilize computerized documentation systems to monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions as appropriate.
- Coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Maintain cultural and diversity awareness when interacting with patients, visitors, co-workers, and other customers.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
- Current Registered Nurse License in Virginia or Current Multistate Compact License.
- 1 year of medical surgical nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Current American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) Certification.
