Role Summary:
A Paramedic is essential in providing urgent medical assistance and safe transportation to individuals in need, adhering to established state and regional protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administers advanced life support and ensures safe transport, including BLS assessments, patient monitoring, and effective wound management.
- Evaluates and addresses medical or trauma emergencies utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Provides care to a diverse patient population while strictly following ALS and BLS guidelines.
- Exhibits expertise in the operation of medical tools and procedures.
- Delivers patient care in accordance with ACLS and BTLS standards.
- Accurately documents patient interactions and EMS responses.
- Maintains an updated ALS and BLS checklist, restocks medical supplies, and fulfills necessary documentation.
- Ensures that vehicle supplies comply with ALS standards and participates in Quality Assurance/Improvement initiatives.
- Engages in training, development, and mandatory OSHA programs.
- Takes charge of crew matters when serving in the highest role within the command structure.
- Conducts debriefings after calls and participates in required training sessions.
- Follows Town of Newburgh Emergency Medical policies and procedures at all times.
- Represents the organization with professionalism and integrity.
