Job Summary

The Division of Water at DelDOT is seeking a highly skilled Hydrologist II to join our team. As a Hydrologist II, you will play a critical role in protecting and promoting the use of the state's groundwater resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret field samples, scientific literature, and statistical data to inform water resource management decisions.
  • Supervise and document the installation of wells, inspect and compile data regarding existing wells, waste disposal sites, and underground storage facilities.
  • Summarize data used in studies, projects, plans, specifications, and research to support water resource management initiatives.
  • Perform mathematical calculations to aid in the selection of alternatives for water resource management.
  • Review and comment on permit applications to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Provide technical and regulatory information to stakeholders to support water resource management decisions.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology, Hydrology, or a related field.
  • Six months of experience in hydrogeology and stratigraphy.
  • Six months of experience in collecting hydrologic field data, such as geologic descriptions, water levels, and water samples.
  • Six months of experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Six months of experience in technical report writing.
  • Knowledge of analyzing and interpreting hydrogeologic data and making technical recommendations.
