Job Summary

The Division of Water at DelDOT is seeking a highly skilled Hydrologist II to join our team. As a key member of our Water Supply Assessment & Protection Section, you will play a critical role in protecting and promoting the use of the state's groundwater resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret field samples, scientific literature, and statistical data to inform water resource management decisions.
  • Supervise and document the installation of wells, inspect and compile data regarding existing wells, waste disposal sites, and underground storage facilities.
  • Summarize data used in studies, projects, plans, specifications, and research to support informed decision-making.
  • Perform mathematical calculations to aid in the selection of alternatives and provide technical and regulatory information to stakeholders.
  • Review and comment on permit applications to ensure compliance with regulations.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in Geology, Hydrology, or a related field.
  • At least six months of experience in hydrogeology and stratigraphy.
  • Experience in collecting hydrologic field data, including geologic descriptions, water levels, and water samples.
  • Knowledge of analyzing and interpreting hydrogeologic data and making technical recommendations.
