Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Surgical Technician who plays a vital role in delivering hands-on patient care. This position requires adherence to evidence-based practices, aligned with the Scope of Practice as defined by the California Nursing Practice Act, along with compliance to regulatory standards, care protocols, and hospital policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and interpret relevant data.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care strategies.
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams and educate patients and their families on managing care and preventing complications.
- Engage with the patient's family to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Monitor and uphold the quality of nursing care delivered.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience.
- Experience in scrub roles specifically within Cardiac procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional scrub experience.
- Prior experience with travel assignments or contracts.
- Familiarity with complex procedures such as heart and lung transplants, VATS, robotic thoracic surgeries, VAD, ECMO, intricate aortic surgeries, and a comprehensive minimally invasive valve program.
