Special Procedure/Neuro Interventional Radiology Technician

At Premier Health, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Special Procedure/Neuro Interventional Radiology Technician to join our team.
Job Summary:The Special Procedure/Neuro Interventional Radiology Technician will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic Neuro Interventional Radiology (IR) procedures, utilizing proper techniques and administration of contrast media. This role will work under their scope of practice and in accordance with certificate/licensure in the administration of medications, operation of equipment, and venipuncture.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform Neuro IR procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and/or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols.
- Obtain clinical history and data for correlation with the IR procedure.
- Implement screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed IR policies / procedures. Perform daily and weekly QC as required.
- Prepare and administer contrast media by injection to the patient according to policy. Practice sterile techniques.
- Assist Radiologist in interventional radiology procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations.
- Coordinate patient care with other areas in order to optimize patient time and satisfaction.
- Assess learning needs and educate patients/families regarding procedures based on individual needs. Thoroughly educate patients about exam.
- Ensure that all records, files and reports are properly recorded as required, perform clerical duties when necessary, verify a signed physician order is received and corresponds with the billed procedure.
- Maintain knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit.
- Follow radiation safety policies and procedures.
