Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute electrical tasks under general supervision, including reading blueprints, terminating cables, and troubleshooting control wiring.
  • Install and terminate electrical feeders.
  • Conduct wire and conduit sizing.
  • Oversee switchgear and device installation and termination.
  • Prepare layouts for installation.
  • Manage underground layout and rough-in processes.
  • Troubleshoot motors and controls while interpreting one-line diagrams.
  • Exhibit all competencies of lower job classifications (apprentice electrician).
  • Ensure compliance with the National Electric Code.
  • Complete work orders and document materials used on-site.
  • Run and connect computer cables, ensuring operational integrity.
  • Install various conduit types.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication abilities.

Training Requirements:

  • Complete Equipment Training
  • Complete OSHA 10 and 30 certifications
  • Fulfill all Safety Certifications

Essential Skills:

  • Accurately identify wire colors.
  • Understand and interpret prints and schematics.
  • Bend conduit using hand tools.
  • Utilize power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches effectively.
  • Capable of trench digging using hand tools or powered equipment.
  • Safely operate trenchers, backhoes, and lifts.
  • Follow safe work procedures as per company policy.
  • Handle two-handed tools/equipment such as cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and jackhammers.
  • Drive company vehicles with both manual and automatic transmissions.
  • Read and interpret maps, manuals, specifications, and blueprints.
  • Operate mechanical personnel lifts (both electrical and gas-powered).
  • Work on energized circuits and equipment with management approval as outlined in the Health and Safety Program.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Journeyman License is mandatory.
  • A degree from a four-year trade school is preferred or a minimum of five years of industry experience.
  • Current knowledge of the National Electric Code and electrical theory is essential.
  • Experience in design/build electrical construction is advantageous.
  • Commercial and industrial experience is required.
  • Ability to adapt to diverse working environments.
  • Proficient in reading project drawings and submittals.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Must pass a background check and possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must successfully complete a drug screening.
  • Experience in Data Centers and strong Industrial background is highly preferred.

Working Environment and Physical Demands: The role requires the ability to communicate effectively, climb, crawl, kneel, stand, balance, walk, and use hands for various tasks. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 60 pounds or more with appropriate equipment. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Proper use of safety equipment is essential to prevent injury. The job may involve working in extreme temperatures and hazardous conditions.
