EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Accounting or Finance is mandatory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist the CFO in overseeing the financial operations and strategic planning of the organization, ensuring fiscal health and adherence to all regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with the CFO and department leaders to develop and manage annual budgets, ensuring resource allocation aligns with organizational objectives.
  • Establish and maintain comprehensive financial systems and processes to manage the organization's accounts, including receivables, payables, payroll, and reporting.
  • Ensure that effective financial policies, procedures, and internal controls are implemented, maintaining compliance with GAAP and relevant federal, state, and local regulations to mitigate risks.
  • Maintain financial documentation and assist in preparing the Statement of Financial Position, including balance sheets, Statement of Financial Activity, and cash flow statements.
  • Revise and enhance all necessary business and accounting practices, policies, and procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance department.
  • Review WebInvoicing to confirm that general ledger expense accounts and budget codes are appropriate for purchases and that budgets have sufficient funds.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions.
  • Analyze actual monthly revenue and expense account balances against budgeted amounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of all general ledger accounts, including bi-weekly payroll entries.
  • Manage the necessary information for identifying vendors subject to 1099 reporting and generate 1099 forms.
  • Supervise American Express and PNC Visa card records and post transactions to the general ledger.
  • Prepare reports required by corporate and foundational grants and contracts.
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Recordkeeping, including recording control labels.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee all personnel within the Finance and Accounting department, ensuring adherence to organizational policies and applicable federal and state laws.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Work conditions are primarily on-site, fostering close collaboration with a small team of individuals with diverse responsibilities.
  • The position typically requires a standard 40-hour work week, though extended hours may be necessary at times.
  • Participation in conferences and other organizational events may require additional hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Occasional physical tasks may include moving items weighing up to 25 pounds, squatting, kneeling, bending, and reaching.
  • Constant use of a computer and other office productivity equipment is required.
  • Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Responsible for maintaining the security of HACU-issued equipment, software, data, and supplies.
  • Infrequent travel may be necessary for this role.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
