Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Methodist Health System. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians with daily activities, including preparing patients for examination, phlebotomy, and injections.
  • Enter medication, laboratory, and radiology orders, and schedule diagnostic tests.
  • Provide patient and family education, and recommend community resources as needed.
  • Perform telephone triage, and accurately record and report patient condition to providers.
  • Maintain work areas to ensure healthy environmental conditions, and handle prescription renewals and inquiries.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.
  • Successful completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
  • 6 months previous medical assistant experience preferred.
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.
  • Medication Aide Registry (MAR or MAR.40) required within 2 months of hire date.
