We are seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Interior Design Engineer to join our team at Recaro Aircraft Seating Americas, Inc. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for assisting project engineers on all technical activities for assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate assigned engineering work to ensure compliance with FAA/EASA regulations, customer requirements, and accepted engineering practices.
- Monitor work for adherence to RECARO standards and ensure effective communication and coordination on assigned projects between all disciplines and project participants.
- Complete basic activities of design engineering, including investigation of aircraft layouts, designing aircraft seats and components in compliance with FAA/EASA regulations and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with project engineers to summarize technical customer requirements and communicate them to the team to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Assist in coordinating all aspects of the design and certification of aircraft seats, including coordination of designers, design engineers, electrical engineers, certification engineers, and product support personnel as needed.
- Plan, schedule, and track assigned engineering tasks, providing detailed reports to program and engineering management.
- Investigate aircraft layouts for passenger seating systems and create necessary drawings to ensure customer, OEM, and regulatory requirements are met.
- Design aircraft seats and components that meet customer expectations and are in conformance to applicable regulations, utilizing knowledge of CAD 2D/3D systems.
- Generate 2D drawings based on created 3D models, using standard aerospace drafting practices and in-house drafting standards.
- Create passenger seat bill of materials (BoM) to meet project-specific requirements.
- Respond to customer concerns by making design changes in seat design and components in a manner that meets customer expectations and is in conformance with applicable regulations under the supervision of the project engineer.
- Participate in design meetings with project engineers to discuss engineering issues, including design changes and requests from customers.
- Bachelor's Degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering with 0-2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in the design of aircraft interiors is a plus.
- Knowledge about aircraft documentation systems for after-sales (CMM, SB) and aircraft configuration control systems is a plus.
- Experience in CATIA V5 or similar program is a plus.
