MainStreet Family Care is seeking a skilled Medical Assistant - Patient Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and healthcare providers.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments
  • Take patient histories and vital signs
  • Prepare patient for examination and treatment
  • Dispense medication as directed
  • Instruct and educate patients about discharge instructions if applicable
  • Handle telephone calls from clients, patients, prospective patients, physicians, pharmacies, as well as other staff
  • Provide solutions to patient concerns within the scope of position

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms with necessary instruments
  • Take patient histories and vital signs
  • Prepare patient for examination and treatment
  • Dispense medication as directed
  • Instruct and educate patients about discharge instructions if applicable

Clerical Responsibilities:

  • Patient intake including scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and collections
  • Provide accurate and timely documentation to staff, insurance carriers and companies
  • Correspondence by phone, in person, or in writing regarding patient care

Requirements:

  • Minimum High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
