Qualifications:
Educational Background
  • Completion of an accredited practical nursing program is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Understanding of the LPN scope of practice as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing is essential.
  • Ability to operate a variety of technical equipment to fulfill patient needs and administer prescribed clinical therapies (e.g., stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers, and electronic monitoring devices).
Licenses and Certifications
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Ohio is mandatory.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
Additional Certifications
  • IV certification (specific to the unit) is necessary.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Regular lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent pushing and pulling of up to 50 lbs.
  • Occasional climbing and balancing.
  • Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
  • Constantly feeling, talking, and hearing.
  • Regular engagement in repetitive motions and maintaining eye/hand/foot coordination.
