We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Design Specialist to join our team at Fermilab. As a key member of our PCB layout group, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of multilayer boards using Altium Designer. Your expertise in PCB layout and manufacturing will be essential in ensuring the successful execution of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the PCB layout group and support operations
• Provide direction, plan, mentor, and lead a team of 3 to 4 members of the group while also designing multilayer boards
• Supervise and mentor PCB layout designers in designing multilayer and split-plane PCBs using Altium Designer
• Collaborate with other specialists to coordinate the modification and repair of the record keeping system and to propose new, improved or upgraded systems
• Select and apply appropriate IPC design standards
• Abide by and be responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with minimum 5 years of experience or associate degree in electronic technology or related field with minimum 8 years of experience
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in leading PCB designers and drafters
• Knowledge and experience in PCB layout and manufacturing
• Good interpersonal skills for working with engineers and technicians
• Experience with Altium Designer and AutoCAD
• Familiarity with IPC 2221, IPC 2222, and IPC 2152 a plus
