Plasma Center Medical Support Specialist

As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of plasma donations. Your primary responsibility will be to determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, and review laboratory test results. You will work closely with the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure compliance with regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities- Determine donor eligibility through informed consent, medical history interviews, and physical examinations.
- Manage donor adverse events, including evaluating reactions and referring to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
- Review laboratory test results, including Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE), to ensure donor safety and eligibility.
- Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and refer to EHS guidance as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Current licensure or certification as an EMT-Paramedic in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Satisfactorily complete FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
