Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Orthopedic Physician Assistant to manage the responsibility of performing comprehensive patient assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will be proficient in written and spoken English, have excellent communication skills, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including initial and interim history and physical examination, and evaluation of normal and abnormal findings.
  • Develop and initiate treatment plans based on patient evaluations with consultation and follow-up as needed.
  • Order and evaluate laboratory, radiological, and other diagnostic tests pertinent to patient care needs.
  • Prescribe and administer medication, orthosis, orthotics, braces, and other orthopedic devices as allowed by state legislation.
  • Participate in clinical rounds with staff to assist in coordinating treatment plans and providing patient follow-up.
  • Assume responsibility for organizing and managing a caseload of patients.
  • Perform surgical first assistant duties to include assisting in exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions.
  • Continuation or renewal of current medications may be ordered by the PA.

Requirements:

  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
  • Participation in the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination program is a requirement for all Veterans Health Administration Health Care Personnel (HCP).

Salary Information

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
