Job Summary

This role is responsible for assisting in the receipt and processing of goods delivered to the warehouse. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Unload merchandise from freight containers and verify quantities against bills of lading and invoices.
Accurately receive, unpack, and examine all goods, notifying management of any discrepancies.
Ensure accurate pricing of merchandise and print price labels as needed.
Segregate merchandise by department and assist in stocking on the sales floor, maintaining a high standard of customer service.
Continuously maintain the receiving warehouse area in an organized, clean, and safe manner.
Prepare inter-store transfers, returns to vendor, and special orders as needed.
Assist management in ensuring freight is completed within 48 hours.
Perform zero counts and pull downs as required.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Customer service, receiving, and/or retail experience preferred.
General knowledge of computers and ability to communicate effectively with fellow employees, management, customers, and vendors.
Ability to work under pressure and exercise sound judgment.
Physical ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 60 lbs. of materials and merchandise.

Working Conditions

Works under regular store conditions with frequent exposure to heat, dust, solvents, chemicals, paint, glue, etc.
Available flexible hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, with a requirement to be available on freight delivery days.
