About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our team at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. As a key member of our clinical team, you will provide exceptional support to our faculty and residents, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist general dentists and specialty dentists in four-handed dentistry, learning and performing basic dental assistant duties.
  • Take digital radiographs, pour models, polish crowns and dentures, make impressions, and temporary crowns.
  • Maintain proper cleanliness of operatories and instruments in compliance with infection control policies.
  • Responsible for sterilization and maintaining equipment and materials in accordance with OSHA, federal, and state guidelines.
  • Answer patient, provider, and insurance phone calls and verify proper responses as necessary.
  • Schedule appointments and access patient health records.
  • Enter treatment charges into the patient care system.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-2 years of related experience.
  • Massachusetts Dental Assistant License.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with sterile technique and assisting various specialties.
  • Sound knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA compliance regarding infection control, blood-borne pathogens, sterilization, and radiology.
