Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Training Specialist to join our team at Keolis North America LLC. As an Engineering Training Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and delivering training programs for our engineering department employees. Your primary goal will be to ensure that our employees have the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their jobs safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Deliver Training Programs: Create and deliver training programs for engineering department employees, including classroom, lab, and on-the-job training. Ensure that all training programs are compliant with Keolis regulations, rules, and standards.
- Conduct Competence Assessments: Regularly assess the competence of engineering department employees and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.
- Support Training Gaps and Competence Improvement Plans: Identify and address training gaps and competence improvement plans for engineering department employees.
- Contribute to Training Program Design and Development: Collaborate with other teams to design and develop new and improved training programs, training materials, and documentation.
- Lead Audits and Safety Compliance: Conduct audits to ensure safety compliance and proficiency in work practices among engineering department employees.
- Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Developments: Continuously update your knowledge and skills through regulatory research, self-study, seminars, conferences, and meetings to ensure best practices are maintained during industry changes.
Requirements:
- Advanced Knowledge of Track Engineering Principles: Possess advanced knowledge of track engineering principles, rules, and policies, safety requirements, and application of a broad range of engineering systems and equipment.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of relevant railroad regulations, rules, and standards, such as FRA parts 213 and 214, CWR, RWP, Engineering Safety Rules, MBTA MW-1 Standards, NORAC, and AREMA recommended practices.
- Experience in Managing FRA Part 243 Compliant Programs: Experience in managing and delivering FRA part 243 compliant programs.
- Previous Experience as a Training Instructor: Previous experience as a training instructor is desirable.
- Adult Learning Qualification: A background, experience, or qualification in adult learning is desirable.
Skills:
- Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Leadership and Management Skills: Excellent leadership and management skills with a proven ability to motivate, inspire, and engage others.
- Self-Starter: Be a self-starter and possess the ability to work with minimal oversight.
- Microsoft Office Skills: Possess intermediate skill set in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Additional Requirements:
- Pass a Physical Examination: Must pass a physical examination.
- Pass a Background Check: Also contingent upon receiving a favorable background check.
- Pass a Pre-Employment Drug and Alcohol Screen: Employment contingent upon passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
