Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Metalworking Dies Fabrication Specialist to join our team at ITW. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for fabricating and repairing metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs, and fixtures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Study specifications, including blueprints, sketches, and models, to determine materials and machines required for fabrication.
  • Compute dimensions, plan layout, and determine assembly method and sequence of operations.
  • Measure, mark, and scribe metal stock for machining.
  • Set up and operate machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to machine parts and verify conformance to specifications.
  • Smooth flat and contoured surfaces and power grinders, and fit and assemble parts together and into assemblies and mechanisms.
  • Connect sensors in dies to ensure quality.
  • Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances.
  • Examine standard or previously used dies, tools, and jigs and fixtures, and recommend design modifications regarding construction and function of part.
  • Develop specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draw or sketch design of product.
  • Operate overhead crane.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment at all times.
  • Cross-train with department co-workers to increase knowledge, flexibility, and efficiency of the overall ITW team.
  • Maintain equipment, including daily inspections.
  • Follow all rules, regulations, and work processes set forth by the company.
  • Hold self-accountable to create and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Competently perform all tasks with a focus on safety within a fast-paced environment.
  • Contribute to team effort by focusing on continuous improvement and success for the entire team.
