Job Title: Mycelium Materials Researcher

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mycelium Materials Researcher to join our Innovation Center team in Emeryville, CA. As a key member of our research and development team, you will play a critical role in driving the development of our patented Fine Mycelium technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and development of new mycelium-based materials and processes
  • Collaborate with experimental and technical teams to execute work and troubleshoot machines and work processes
  • Operate various types of machinery in a safe manner and report any and all machine abnormalities
  • Participate in clean, inspect and lubrication (CIL) activities to support experiment reliability
  • Record data accurately and in a timely manner
  • Report observations and experiment deviations (written and verbal)
  • Participate in capability and skill building activities within the facility
  • Don proper personal protective equipment (PPE) at all required times
  • Identify improvement opportunities with current procedures and properly escalate them to leadership

Requirements:

  • At least six months of work experience in a production or research and development environment
  • Reliable transportation to ensure consistent attendance on all scheduled days
  • Be detail oriented, with a high level of focus on the quality of your work
  • Ability to work on your feet the majority of your shift and handle materials up to 70 pounds in weight with assistance
  • The ability to be coachable and both give and receive constructive feedback
  • General computer knowledge and data entry ability
  • Able to function in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Capability to perform team and individual work
  • Verbal and written communication skills
