Job Title: Associate Director of Pathology

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Pathology to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County. As a key member of our pathology department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic services, leading quality improvement initiatives, and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to ensure excellent patient care.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in internal/external quality assurance, performance improvement activities, and departmental meetings.
  • Assume responsibility for lab director's duties during their absence or as needed.
  • Supervise and instruct residents/fellows on service of general surgical and clinical pathology, intraoperative consultation, and cytology.
  • Share the autopsy service and supervise and instruct residents/fellows performing autopsy and sampling proper and adequate tissue for histology examination.
  • Organize daily surgical case review conference (consensus conference) and review clinical cases in multidisciplinary conference when needed.
  • Participate in pathology resident and student teaching, involved in pathology service management and quality improvement activities.
  • Maintain good communications with regulatory, administrative, and government officials, with all hospital services, and within all divisions of Pathology Department.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of accredited residency/fellowship in the specialty and subspecialty, and AP/CP board certified.
