We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency and Critical Care team at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a Veterinary Technician in this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support to our veterinary team in a fast-paced emergency and critical care environment.
Key Responsibilities- Triage phone calls and walk-ins, and provide initial patient assessments as needed.
- Perform patient restraint for examinations and procedures, and assist with laboratory specimen collection and preparation.
- Monitor and maintain patient vital signs, and provide general nursing care as needed.
- Assist with emergency procedures, including airway management, oxygen administration, and venipuncture.
- Participate in the care and treatment of critically ill patients, and assist with the development and implementation of patient care plans.
- Communicate effectively with clients, veterinary staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, and participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or Provisional Veterinary Technician (PVT) certification.
- 2+ years of experience in emergency and critical care veterinary medicine.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift and restrain animals, and stand for long periods of time.
- Knowledge of basic veterinary practices, procedures, and terminology.
