Job Title: Early Childhood Educator

Job Summary:
The Playing Field Madison is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As a Lead Teacher for our young learners, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and engaging environment that fosters social, emotional, and cognitive growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement educational curriculum that aligns with developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Lead by example, modeling and coaching teaching team members to ensure high-quality care and education.
  • Plan and execute age-appropriate activities that promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth in children.
  • Maintain open communication with parents through regular discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met, maintaining a healthy and safe classroom environment.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure they are following planned activities and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records, forms, and files, as well as a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements:
  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree in early childhood education or a related field with a minimum of 30 credits in ECE.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as basic computer skills.
  • High energy and ability to work well with others, fostering a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development, including infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Ability to pass a full background check and health screening.
  • Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools, or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels, and kneel, bend, squat, or crawl.
  • A specific vision ability will be required, including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, see colors, have peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
