Job Overview:

This position focuses on promoting, protecting, and restoring workers' health within a safe and healthy work environment. The successful candidate will collaborate with workers, employers, and other professionals to prioritize interventions, develop and implement programs, evaluate care and service delivery, and maximize productivity and wellness of workers within client companies.

The foundation for this position is research-based, with an emphasis on optimizing health, preventing illness and injury, and reducing health hazards. Depending on client company needs, the incumbent may focus on one or more of the following areas: disability case management, disease/condition management, injury prevention, first aid/emergency preparedness, and/or health education and promotion.

Job Requirements:
  • Associate's Degree or Diploma in Nursing
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS)
  • Registered Nurse
  • Current Ohio licensure
  • Occupational health, wellness, prevention, or condition management experience
  • Computer literacy
  • Understanding of ICD9/ ICD10/ CPT 4 codes
  • Experience with OSHA/ ADA/ Workers Compensation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • 3-4 years experience in Nursing
Job Responsibilities:
  • Safety/Health Promotion and Demonstrating Value/ROI - Collaborate with client company management and employees to establish/maintain a workplace that protects workers from occupational illness and injury and maintains regulatory compliance.
  • Follows and implements SHARE processes that monitor, track, trend, and report outcomes to demonstrate value and ROI to the customer on a quarterly basis.
  • Manages program administration by utilizing and including the customer in the SHARE process of goal setting, planning, implementation, evaluation, and measurement to accomplish desired occupational health goals for the program.
  • May provide oversight and direction to LPNs and wellness coordinators. May function as a leader/member of the Corporate Health team of professionals where an integrated service model is in place.
  • Develops and operates the occupational health program according to established guidelines and regulations set forth by federal, state, and local laws, professional organizations, and the SHARE Occupational Health Program.
  • Completes all requested/required reports timely and attends all required/requested meetings/presentations.
  • Provides Health Education/Screening/Counseling through establishing/maintaining a system for health/wellness promotion, screening, education, and counseling as well as disease management and health coaching.
  • Ensures First Aid/Emergency Preparedness by applying nursing skills following SHARE Medical/Nursing Protocols and SHARE Clinical Procedures to provide a workplace program for the timely and effective treatment of first aid and emergency incidents.
  • Provides pre and post absence and disability risk assessment to develop targeted plans for pre-identified conditions (mental health/depression, cardiovascular, and diabetes or metabolic syndrome).
  • Performs interventions that focus on impacting behavior change and maximizing self-management to positively impact the health of employees with chronic conditions.
  • Collaborates with appropriate departments to facilitate employee success in utilizing available resources (i.e. HR, Workers Comp, Benefits, EAP, Health/Wellness) to improve health status.
  • Provides passive case management oversight to certain cases which involves review, monitoring, and support of work-related and personal disability claim supplier and third party administration activities.
  • Provides active case management interventions to appropriate cases and assist with transitional work program and early return to work program management as well as coordination with long term disability suppliers to document continued disability.
