Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Norwich Pharmaceuticals. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of pharmaceutical materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Dispense pharmaceutical materials to process orders and perform documentation and procedures to maintain proper inventory.
  • Utilize computer skills to access views, print, and complete entries in the BAS system.
  • Perform technical procedures within your skill level and initiate/troubleshoot as needed.
  • Work efficiently, minimizing distractions and manage time to accomplish work by expected deadlines.
  • Operate, assemble, disassemble, measure, test, material handling, dispensing equipment as required.
  • Complete all required documentation to GMP standards and maintain good housekeeping standards in your work areas.
  • Pick up, store, stage, and dispense materials.
  • Understand and use the BAS system to access and lock critical areas.
  • Understand the operation and use of the Downflow Booths, Solvent Dispensing MOD, Howorth Isolator, and La Calhene Isolator.
Documentation Expectations
  • Search and retrieve required documents from QUMAS.
  • Complete a dispensing ticket to include critical information.
  • Complete a preventative maintenance work order and breakdown sheet.
  • Print dispensing tickets, SAP Material expiration/retest information, and reconciliation worksheets.
  • Print piece labels, verification labels, and trash labels.
  • Review and input to advanced technician for training documents (i.e. SOP's, Safe Practices, Work Instructions, EN, MCA, VCC, and Work Processes).
  • Mark off dispensed orders on visual schedule.
  • Request new logbook and close completed books.
  • Start Dispensing Material calculations.
Inventory Control and SAP
  • Utilize SAP to access and print views.
  • Initiate a reconciliation form.
  • Understand and articulate the differences between US01 and US11.
  • Able to utilize both US01 and US11 plants.
  • Understand the requirements to create, delete, and change the bill of materials.
  • Understand the theory of inventory and articulate the process order flow of materials into, through, and out of Dispensing.
  • Can apply basic knowledge of the physical attributes of raw materials (i.e. carbomer, dyes, actives).
  • Explain component usage (FEFO, FIFO, returns, additions, etc.).
Material Ordering
  • Follow first expiry first out (FEFO) on materials when possible.
  • Determine plant designation for material (i.e. US01- US11).
  • Determine material is released and not restricted from use.
  • Print SAP documents- Exp Date, Assay as required (signed by QA).
  • Create labels for each material.
  • Perform all related calculations.
  • Retrieve materials from multiple locations (Highrise, Dispensing, Receiving, PRD, P-S, Controlled areas).
Dispensing
  • Confirm dispensing room readiness (M/M or P/P complete and Logged).
  • Sign Records into dispensing room.
  • Inspect and examine critical components to dispense.
  • Identify and document component material and component batch numbers.
  • Ensure dispensed items are released and within retest/expiration date with no supervision.
  • Confirm material descriptions and material numbers are correct with no supervision.
  • Set up room for dispensing including containers, liners, and dispensing tools with no supervision.
Leadership and Mastery
  • Coaches, trains, and qualifies lower-level technicians.
  • Attends train the trainer class.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic mathematical and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures to perform work function.
  • Sound judgement and operates with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable with computers and the use of MS Office Suite programs.
  • Team player and ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
  • Attention to Detail.
  • Excellent problem-solving and oral and written communication skills.
