Position Overview

The Project Manager II is tasked with the comprehensive planning, execution, and oversight of projects to guarantee their successful delivery within defined parameters of scope, budget, and timeline. This role entails managing all phases of the project lifecycle, from initiation through to closure, while collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure they are kept informed of progress and any emerging challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement project plans, coordinating both internal resources and external contractors to align with organizational objectives.
  2. Collaborate with the Project Sponsor and team to establish project scope, clearly defining inclusions and exclusions, identifying high-level risks, and determining success metrics.
  3. Identify project requirements, sequence activities, and create a comprehensive schedule that effectively allocates resources. Develop a detailed work plan that outlines necessary activities for successful project completion.
  4. Monitor project changes and control risks, utilizing appropriate tools to measure performance. Communicate financial variances promptly and manage all project expenditures in accordance with established policies.
  5. Conduct project closeout activities as per company policy, documenting lessons learned and organizing project documentation for future reference.

Additional Duties:

  1. Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
  2. Participate in storm response duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's Degree required.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a utility or regulated environment, with a proven track record in managing capital projects.

Skills: Strong commitment to safety, ethical standards, and compliance with NERC/FERC regulations. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and familiar with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera P6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead teams and negotiate effectively.

Work Environment:

This position operates under a hybrid work model, requiring a minimum of two days in the office, with flexibility based on departmental needs. Regular interaction with clients may involve occasional travel.

Data Governance:

Utilize data effectively to inform business decisions and support data stewardship initiatives.
