Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Substation Engineer to lead our project teams in the development and implementation of high voltage electrical substation projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on high voltage substation design and project management.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage project schedules and budgets for multiple projects simultaneously
- Supervise and coordinate project activities to ensure timely completion
- Assign tasks to project design teams based on project needs
- Develop one-line diagrams, electrical plans, and specifications for projects
- Apply engineering application software to complete tasks such as ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, load flow, and short circuit studies
- Communicate and coordinate project activities with customer representatives, project teams, and management
- Prepare, coordinate, and track project schedules and budgets, and ensure projects remain within allotted budgets and schedules
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum of 10 years of direct experience in high voltage electrical substation engineering and design
- Strong knowledge and understanding of high voltage electrical substation components and their functions
- Extensive knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals, three-phase power systems, per-unit mathematics, and symmetrical components
- Knowledge of common engineering application software
- Strong knowledge and understanding of engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI
