Job Summary:
This role is responsible for ensuring the quality and safety of raw materials and suppliers used by Balchem facilities. The Supply Quality Analyst will work closely with the R&D, Operations Quality, Commercial, and Procurement teams to support a proactive Quality System.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough analysis and risk assessment of potential new Raw Materials and Suppliers
- Ensure suppliers and raw materials meet all documented specifications, requirements, and regulations
- Review supplier and raw material documentation, conduct the supplier and raw material documentation process, and assist with other Supply & Customer Quality functions as needed
- Work with Site Operations Quality teams to provide information for effective Hazard Analyses and develop specifications that support finished product requirements
- Provide support for others within the S&CQ team at an assigned location, or within the broader Supply or Customer Quality teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Regulatory Affairs, or related field
- 2+ years prior experience in food or dietary supplement quality or regulatory affairs
- Computer proficiency, including word processing, creation of spreadsheets and forms, and utilizing the internet to research various topics
- Ability to assess and interpret complex data and communicate the same in an effective and proactive manner
- Able to work effectively in a team environment with minimal supervision
