Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Grant Accounting Professional to join our finance team at Accounting Career Consultants. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in the management of financial resources for various projects and programs funded by grants.

About the Role:

The Grant Accounting Professional will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of grant-funded programs, ensuring compliance with grant requirements, and coordinating with program managers and external auditors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Grant Financial Management:
    • Prepare and manage budgets for grant-funded programs.
    • Monitor and track grant expenditures to ensure they are in line with budgeted amounts.
    • Review and approve grant-related financial transactions and documentation.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with all grant requirements and regulations.
  • Prepare financial reports for grantors and management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during grant audits, providing necessary documentation and information.
Financial Analysis and Reconciliation:
  • Perform regular reconciliations of grant accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyze financial data related to grants to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Coordination and Collaboration:
  • Work closely with program managers to ensure proper allocation and use of grant funds.
  • Provide training and support to staff on grant financial management and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to integrate grant accounting into overall financial processes.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year focused on grant accounting or financial management for grant-funded programs.
  • Experience in non-profit accounting is preferred.
Skills:
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and grant regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
