Job Description:

Position Overview:

As a Staff Accountant, you will work within a growing team to manage a wide range of accounting functions that support the company’s financial health. Your responsibilities will include determining appropriate accounting treatments, reconciling and analyzing accounts, preparing journal entries, and recording business transactions for various operational aspects. This role is instrumental in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounting Treatment and Transactions:
o Determine appropriate accounting treatment and record business transactions for leases and payoffs.
o Record business transactions for warehouses, providing accurate accounting treatments.

• Reconciliation and Analysis:
o Reconcile and analyze balance sheet and income/expense accounts.

• Journal Entries:
o Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely.

• Financial Reporting:
o Prepare workpapers in support of various financial projects and audits.

Qualifications:

Required Experience and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (or equivalent work experience).
• General understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
• Proficient in Excel and other spreadsheet applications.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in lease accounting and/or financial services industry.
• Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.
