Architect I Job Description

Unified Business Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Architect I to join our dynamic team specializing in construction projects. As a key member of our team, you will assist in the design and implementation of architectural solutions for federal projects, working closely with senior architects to create innovative and functional designs that meet federal standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and development of architectural designs, sketches, and presentations for federal projects.
  • Preparation and maintenance of project documentation, including construction documents, specifications, and reports.
  • Construction administration duties, including site visits, submittal reviews, RFIs, ASIs, meeting minutes, change order management, code compliance, progress payments, coordination with consultants, and closeout documentation.
  • Regulatory compliance, including understanding and applying federal guidelines, codes, and standards.
  • Project coordination, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate seamless communication and project execution.
  • Project management, engaging in and assisting in further developing systems and processes for effective project management.
  • Site visits and conditions assessments to assess buildings during pre-design and construction.
  • Research on materials, products, and technologies relevant to federal construction projects.
  • Client interaction, including preparing presentations, meeting minutes, and reports for client meetings.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of architectural principles and tools, including construction materials and methods, building systems, application of building codes, and building technology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision in a remote, digitally collaborative, team environment, managing multiple tasks effectively and adhering to deadlines.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design practices is a plus.
  • A licensed architect is preferred, with progress toward architectural licensure required.
