Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach courses in the English, Communication, and Humanities Department at Alamance Community College. The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in the subject or a Master's degree + 18 graduate credit hours in the subject matter from a regionally-accredited institution.

Responsibilities
  • Teach curriculum courses in the subject matter in both the University Transfer and Associate in Applied Science degree areas.
  • Develop course plans, tests, and identify and assess student learning outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with students and the Department Head.
  • Remain up-to-date on technology and methods of teaching with technology.
  • Maintain accurate records of student work and attendance.
  • Grade and return student work in a timely manner.
  • Counsel students regarding their grades and progress in the course.
  • Support the Department, Division, and College goals.
  • Provide requested data in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in the subject or a Master's degree + 18 graduate credit hours in the subject matter from a regionally-accredited institution.
  • Experience teaching hybrid and web-enhanced courses, including knowledge of Moodle course management systems or similar LMS.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with faculty, staff, students, and others.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Community college teaching experience and familiarity with North Carolina Community College curriculum structure and processes.
